1952-2014
Brian Edward Williams, age 61, died peacefully in Tacoma the morning of January 29, of cancer-related causes.
A resident of Tacoma, Brian was graduated from Lincoln High School, Harvard University, and Willamette University Law School. He married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Nusser, and they raised their family in Tacoma.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Hazel Williams. He is survived by his beloved wife of thirty nine years; sons Peter (Cheryl) and Jared (Jessica) of Lakewood; Nathan (Haley) of Eugene, OR; and grandchildren Ty, Madilyn, Gabe, and Hannah; sisters Rachel (Jim) Wade of Columbia, MD; Mary (Jim) Brau of Eugene, OR; Chris (Tom) Hughes of Seattle; Margie Williams (Mark Anderson) of Richmond, CA; Delia Batalao of Tacoma; and a brother Michael (Jean) Williams of Seattle.
He was a member of the former St. Paul’s United Methodist Church and The Bridge, A Ministry of the United Methodist Church. His main hobby was photography and repairing photographic equipment. Brian was treasured by all who knew him for having a gentle soul and a great heart, but he also was known to be a practical jokester and a clever punster. He touched the lives of many through his personal ministry of kindness and joy.
A public memorial celebrating Brian’s life will be held on February 8th, at 11am, at The Bridge, 5601 S Puget Sound, Tacoma.
