I still remember the day I first met Barbara. It was about 3 1/2 years ago and we had just moved into the neighborhood. She came to our door with a smile on her face and a notepad in her hand. She introduced herself, gave us a quick overview of the neighbors, and then told me she had a few questions to ask me and wanted to write down the answers so she wouldn't forget. I found this very sweet and charming. I loved seeing Barbara and George out for their walks around the neighborhood. And she was always dressed up and ready for the day, jewlery and all. Barbara was a great neighbor as she was always up on what was going on in the neighborhood - which is a very good thing! She was more than willing to lend a helping hand. There was a morning not long after we moved in where I locked myself out of the house with my 2 little ones (who were 6 months and 2 years old) inside. Not knowing anyone I ran over to the Campbell's to see if I could use their phone. Fortunately they were awake at the early hour and came to my rescue. Barbara even helped me soothe the kids through our sliding door until my husband arrived with the house key. Barbara was also always very generous with our children, remembering them on holidays and giving them little treasures she would find while cleaning out some part of her house. We haven't seen her in quite a while, but we will always remember her. Our love and prayers go out to George and the rest of her family and friends.
