Barbara L Bamford's Obituary
Barbara was born and raised in Sumner, WA into the pioneer Wright Family. Her parents were Jess Coffman, and Wilma Roush who was also a member of a pioneer family in Orting, WA. Barbara graduated from Sumner H.S., and in 1947 she married Lee Bamford. Together, they had five children: Suzan Swarthout, Michael Bamford (Marilena), Leanne Berger, Lois Yatzek (Ralph), and Jeffrey Bamford (Deceased). She leaves behind also, 9 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 3 step-grandchildren.
She had been a homemaker for most of the time her children were growing, but went to work for a catering firm and then on to Good Samaritan Hospital where she worked as kitchen staff until she retired.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, husband Lee and son Jeffrey.
Barbara was very active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post 969. She very much enjoyed going to ceramics class with dear friends, Linda, Betty, Julie, and other wonderful ladies. They were very gracious and loving to her.
Our family is deeply grateful to the entire staff of the Heartwood Rehabilitation Center for the tender loving care they provided to our mother during her year-long stay with them.
Please leave a memory on the guestbook page. In honor of Barbara's wishes, there will not be a service. The family will be having a gathering (to be posted on the website) for all who care to join us in remembering her.
