I had the honor of meeting Ed as a young man lost in the juvenile rehabilitation system. Ed was my counselor/mentor. In the 2 years I was there from 1/2000 to 12/2001 he had taught me so many valuable life skills and he assumed a father type role as there was much for me to learn. He always had a great attitude and a good sense of humor. I remember him showing me his drivers license photo from years past and he looked like Grizzly Adams. He was such a wonderful person. I wished I could have known him on other terms but am glad we met nonetheless. I know he’s in heaven watching down. I truly believe that if I didn’t by chance meet him and he mentor and teach me critical life skills I would have ended up in adult prison or worse.
