Arthur "Ted" Turner's Obituary
Arthur Theodore Turner, more fondly known as Ted of Tacoma, WA passed away on June 14, 2017. Born November 11, 1947 in Medford, OR. Ted is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kim Turner, his daughter Catrina Clarke (Brian), his son Charlie Turner, his grandchildren Jeremiah and Annalise Clarke, his sister Patricia Heleen of Aurora, CO, and his brother Clifford Howerton of Eugene, OR. Ted attended Boulder High School in Boulder, CO. As a student at the University of Colorado, he decided to serve his country and enlist in the Army. Ted served in the Vietnam War as part of the 101st Airborne Division; he was wounded in combat and later awarded a Purple Heart. Ted continued his military career as an Army investigator. Upon being stationed in Korea, he met his wife Kim and they were married shortly after. Ted retired after 22+ years of service. After retiring from the Army, Ted began a second career with Washington State as a licensing investigator and investigator manager. He worked for the State for 17 years until his decision retire. He spent more time enjoying his hobbies. Ted enjoyed fishing, traveling, boating, family time and researching his genealogy. Ted was an active member of Tacoma Central Presbyterian Church. He was one of the most caring, hardworking individuals who helped others in any way possible. He will be greatly missed by many.
