He met Marie Weber at the USO Club in Tacoma 1945. She had on high heels and loved to twirl and dad fell in love with her and the Pacific NW. They enjoyed dancing and good movies and were married Feb 9, 1946. Art loved to drive and often took short trips as well as driving back to Rhode Island three times with his family. A man of quiet dignity and honesty, he was always optimistic; always had time to play, and spoke positively about people. He had a beautiful tenor voice and sang in many choirs; he was always humming a tune; and woke up smiling. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and played tennis or raquetball twice a week for 25 years forming friendships that would last a lifetime. He wanted to see people succeed and enjoyed his life stating I had a wonderful life. I would not change anything. God has called him home and we look forward to the time when we can be reunited through Christ.
Viewing will be 1pm-9pm Friday at Mt View Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11am Saturday, November 15, 2008 in the Mt View Garden Chapel.
