SSG Arthur F. Jestice (Retired) of Tacoma, WA passed away on January 3rd, 2019. Arthur was born April 14, 1927 in Wheat, TN to Dave Jestice and Elsie Freels. Arthur served in the U.S Army for 20 years retiring in August of 1968. H Read Obituary
My father, Leonard Perry (Art’s nephew as well) talked with him every week. He was so upset when he stopped calling. He had no way to contact him to make sure he was okay. I spent a week calling to find the facility that he was in, but was unsuccessful. I hate that the family was not informed of his passing. We loved him and wish him peace as he is reunited with Irene.
I don't recall meeting Art, but I know I ate his food at the Abba Dabba in Ponders Corner. My parents owned the La Casa Motel just a few yards down the street. I'm sorry to miss his funeral. I'll make myself some ham and eggs for breakfast . . . and remember the times I played the jukebox at the cafe. Don Doman
Art has been a part of my life ever since I can remember and even before that when I was a baby. Art & Irene were always like grandparents to me. They were always watching out for me and my siblings, they were there with love & support. We enjoyed going over to visit them and hearing the stories they had to share. Art was always so happy, I will never forget his smile or his laugh. I will forever cherish the memories of how he called me Sissy and told me that I get more beautiful every day. He was the sweetest man with the most kind and loving heart. I was lucky enough to have a car because of him when I started driving and that little white truck is just one more memory I will always have of Art. He is one of the greatest people that I will ever know. I am honored that I was able to know him, but to have him be a part of my family too. We miss him and he will never be forgotten. But I am glad that he is with his love, Irene, once again. Rest In Peace. I love you, Art!
I first met Art in the early 80's before I married his best friends (Bill Michaelis) grand daughter. Bill introduced Art and I and we became immediate friends! Once Sarah and I moved in across from Art and Irene in the early 90's, Art and Irene have been additional grandparents to my 4 kids (Tara, Heather, Jason and Melissa) as well as great grandparents to Travis, Katelyn and Allison. They are incredible human beings, and were involved with each of my children and grand children from the day each one was born. We love them so much. They were in every sense of the word part of the Frye family, and we part of the Jestice family!

Art and Irene are both missed tremendously. The love you have shown not only me and my family but everyone you encounter is something cherished and missed deeply. From meeting you as a young girl, all the way through adulthood and watching my son grow, you have always been a part of our family. Your enthusiasm for each day and our conversations are something I will cherish. Seeing you sitting on your front porch, we would come join you and always look forward to hearing your laugh and just enjoy your company. The time we have shared and the relationship we have built is one that is truly missed. There are not enough words to explain such a wonderful man Art was. Art watched my son grow and is a special person to him also. You have brought so many wonderful memories we will cherish and think about often. Art is truly going to be missed but is able to be with Irene once again and enjoy more time together. We love you Art!

Our loved uncle Arthur from America is now gone and we all miss him! We hope he is now reunited with his love Irene so that they can watch us together from heaven and will be ever with us! The times we spent together in Lakewood and also the moments together in Germany will be ever in our hearts and minds! Those who are loved will never die! Rest in Peace uncle Arthur!
