Arlene Kathryn Dondero Harris
Arlene was born in Tacoma on November 11, 1924 and passed away peacefully at home, attended by her daughter Joyce Arlene on September 5, 2011. A lifelong North End resident, Arlene graduated from Stadium High School in 1942. Arlene found a special joy in her last and favorite career as a shuttle driver for Pierce Transit. Arlene's shuttle "ladies" were invited to family Thanksgiving dinners, had their laundry done and housekeeping arranged, demonstrating Arlene's kindheartedness. Arlene is survived by her husband of fifty years, Jack Harris, daughters Rosemary Fitch (Tom), Judyann Morgan (Garry Ranck), Adele Berg (Ed), Joyce Carle (Roger), Barbara Harris Sinor (Richard), Beth Harris, Dorothy Klein, sons Rees Morgan (Marinelle), Don Harris (Merilyn), Michael Harris, multitudes of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and sister Joyce Greenfield. Arlene is predeceased by her first husband Eddie R. Morgan, son James Nathan Harris and brother Commander Robert T. Dondero. A celebration of Arlene's life will be held TODAY, Wednesday, September 7, at 2pm at the Mt. View Garden Chapel, with inurnment at a later date in Mt. View Memorial Park. Donations to the People's Retirement Assisted Living Home are encouraged, in appreciation for their compassionate and loving care of Arlene. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home.
