Aria Brown's Obituary
Our family's matriarch passed from this world on Palm Sunday March 20, 2016 at 84 years old. Born abroad in Cerpas, Latvia on April 16, 1931, she was a survivor of the Second World War. Aria created a new life, immigrating here in 1949 with her father Alfreds, mother Marta and brother Aldons. Aria was proud to have become an American citizen. She married Robert and had four children, two boys Carroll and Bob and two girls Kathy and Debby. Suddenly widowed at a young age she worked hard and used her old world manners and thinking to care for and raise her young children. She found companionship with Aldo, a good and loving man. Lasting bonds and friendships were formed between the two families.
She retired from Sears after a long career in ladies apparel. Throughout her life Aria enjoyed many hobbies. Gardening, backyard birds, puzzles, sewing, knitting and crocheting filled many hours. The handcrafted gifts that she created will be cherished by us all. We all remember her amazing homemade raspberry jam!
Happy to care for, and always loving of children, she was known as a Grandma to many more than the four directly related grandchildren, Aaron, Heather, Jimmy and Matthew and great-grandchild Kess. A loving, giving, strong willed, selfless person. She was so often kind with words and deeds. Aria's time among us was well spent. We were truly blessed! After many trials, Aria now flies with the angels.
Arrangements have been made with Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery. Viewing will be Friday, April 1 from 1:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Funeral will be Saturday, April 2 at 1:00 p.m. in the Garden Chapel followed by graveside services.
