Andie and I had an instant connection! We both had children the same age and was navigating motherhood working at remote positions. One of my favorite memories was when she came down to celebrate the local Christmas tree lighting in University Place, WA. She met my kids and another mom friend and her little girl. We had a blast taking pictures in front of the Christmas tree.

Halston, your mama asked me to take her picture in front of the tree to specifically put on her social media pages as a reminder she was living her life. She took the best photos. I wish I took one with her. She took amazing photo of kids in front of a blow-up Will Ferrel Elf Christmas decoration. We got dinner from a local food truck, listened and watched my kids dance to the live Christmas music. It was the perfect holiday evening!

We dropped my kids off and ventured to a local restaurant and had dessert and talked all night about our future! We were both newly single and we understood each other as we were on similar paths in life. We had a date to celebrate our new legal status with pedicures, but our schedules I never aligned. It was at this time she shared she was thinking about changing her name to something that felt more aligned with her soul. Andie was a no brainer because that was what her friends called her in Arizona and Leigh because it was her middle name. I told her I loved it and changed her contact info in my phone right away. We had the best girl chat and talked about the future. It was really the perfect night out with a girlfriend.

I miss you Andie and I will never forget you and when I walk by the ocean or the bay trail, I will think of your beautiful smile. We will always have Jem and the Holograms song "Only the Beginning!" I am getting back to running and I wish we could have done that together. I loved running and stopped because of life but will start again my dear friend. I know you are watching your loved ones! Rest easy!

I had the pleasure of working with her at ADOT. She was a great friend, co-worker, daughter, and mother. She loved working in HR and it gave her purpose. She had an amazing work ethic. She was creative, kind, smart, and very caring! I’ll never forget our chats about tv shows, our hopes and dreams, and our lives. You will be missed!

We (along with another friend) went to breakfast and some shopping to celebrate her move. She was so excited to be moving to Washington. She was looking forward to spending more time outdoors with Halston (who was with us). She knew that’s what she needed and wanted and she found a way to make it happen. I’ll never forget the big smile on her face!

I feel so fortunate to have known Andie for the last 15 years. I have so many memories of your time at NAU, like going to the creek over the summer, working at the LEADS Center together, spending a Thanksgiving in Flagstaff together, many late nights talking, and experiencing carefree college days together. I’m so glad that I was able to meet Halston and see her become a mother. The last year or two we spent time texting and going back and forth as we had some similar experiences. We both felt comforted knowing we weren’t alone in our experiences. Andie was ray of sunshine bottled up in a person. I am a better person for knowing her and for being loved by her. I love you sweet friend and will miss you always.

I had the honor of working with Andie together at Grand Canyon University on the HR team. She was so bright, so warm, and so kind. She was truly dedicated to her team and brought me so many moments of laughter and heartfelt talks. I would walk upstairs to sit in her office and chat and giggle. She loved being a dog mom and she is one of the few colleagues I’ve kept in touch with since departing. I’m praying for those who knew her best and loved her so much. She was a bright, light soul in this world and I’m sure will continue to watch over all she loved from heaven. 💕🙏🪽

She was a great soccer player! We passed the ball well to each other, always staying open. She was so nice to me and I hope she knows how much her support meant to me. we shared many great conversations, I appreciate the time I got to know her, even if it was for a short time.
