Alta was born August 15, 1913, the youngest of 10 children, and passed away on September 27, 2005. She worked numerous jobs during her life, including as a Rosie the Riveter for the Boeing Company in Cleveland, OH during WWII, as Read Obituary
My grandmother was a wonderful, vibrant caring woman. Some of my favorite memories of her include how active she was throughout her life. I was inspired by the fact that late in life she met her last husband who was the great love of her life. I will miss her.##imported-begin##Alex Pearson##imported-end##
I have many fond memories of Grandma as well. Grandma Fi-fi is my name for her. I got to be closer to her in my young adult years and found her to be warm and loving. I especially enjoyed her sense of humor and no-nonsense approach to child rearing.I also appreciate how much she loved and cared for Walt. Grandma would have been very proud of her Stevie. Steve gave a strong and loving voice to what had to have been a very difficult eulogy to make. Thank you, Steve. Grandma would have liked it just the way it was. I like to think that Grandma is now catching up and reminiscing up there. I like to think that she is cooking meals and baking cookies for loved ones she hasn't seen for a long time. I like to think that she is also looking down and smiling upon us one and all and very grateful for the children,grandchildren,great and great-great grandchildren she left behind knowing that we loved her very very much. We loved Grandma very much. She was a strong and determined person we could all admire.
Always warm and caring, Grandma was also never afraid to speak her mind or share her wisdom.

Dear Family,
I'm sorry I could not be there for Grandma's funeral. I am glad I got to visit with her on her 90th birthday and at various other times I travelled to Washington. I am glad she got to meet my wife, Michaele, and see pictures of my young daughter, Erika.
