Al wouldn't share his birthday with us--probably didn't want the attention. But one day, he made a mistake by sharing with my husband that the 1962 Seattle World's Fair opened on his birthday. My husband had heard me say enough times that it opened on my birthday to know the exact date. It was fun to share the experience--though his at 26 was different than mine at 12. His last words to me was a phone call where we said "Happy Birthday" to each other. Reaching 90 was impressive. We miss Al and are grateful we got to know him.
