Zona B Williams' Obituary
Zona died on December 4, 2018 in Puyallup, Washington at the age of 98.
When Zona B Johnson was born may 15 ,1920,in Newberg, Oregon, her Father Walter, was 27, and her mother, Hattie B. was 31. She had one son Ronald Edwin Gookin and one daughter Nancy Janelle Gookin from her Marriage in 1940 to Verle Gookin of 33 years. She then married Edward White in February 1974 in Salem Oregon. She then married Edward V Williams in 1986 in Tacoma, Washington.
She was living in Pine City, Baker county Oregon in 1930. Zona grew up during the 1929 depression and as a result always took care in using what she had and saving everything possible for the future. Some people might consider saving everything was being a packrat but Zona didn't consider saving being a packrat.
The Johnson family moved to Salem, Oregon about 1930. Her Father Walter Scott Johnson died at age 38 in February 1931 in Boise Idaho when Zona was 11. The family then lived through the remainder of the great depression without a father.
The Johnson family then consisted of mother Hattie B. and 8 children, brother Carrol Butts (1910-1984), Zona B, Johnson (1920-2018), brother Chelsea S Johnson (1916-2007), brother Leon D. Johnson (1917-1977), brother Orrin K.Johnson (1924-2012), sister Donna M. (1926-2009), sister Fern M. (1929-Living 90 years old), sister Ellena F. (1930-2006)
Zona is predeceased by her parents, 6 of her brothers and sisters, all three of her husbands, and Daughter Nancy Janelle Blough (1949-1989) of Tacoma, Wa.
She is survived by her Son Ronald E. Gookin of White Salmon, Wa, sister Fern M. Glenn of Denver Colorado.
She is also survived by 4 grandchildren and many great grand children and one great great grandchild.
