Yvonne M. Riley's Obituary
Yvonne Marlene “Vonnie” Riley, passed away September 20, 2018. She was born July 11, 1935 in Tacoma, Washington to the late Mose and Bertha LaBounty.
She is survived by her loving husband Walter of 65 years; son Rick; daughter Dianna; granddaughters Michele Masters, Rachael (Clint) Harris, Jessica Hertig, Melissa (Nate) Cousineau, Shannon Englehart and 7 great-grandchildren, Kaytlin, Union, Cole, Madison, Cody, Christelle and Anders. Preceded in life by sisters Evelyn and Violet and brother Larry. Vonnie “Cookie” and husband Walter have spent the last 30 plus years wintering in Arizona and California with family. Yvonne loved to fish and go clam digging with all her family. The stories she could tell… Yvonne loved to travel to Reno and Las Vegas with Walter, family and friends. She took many trips to Hawaii with sister Evelyn and childhood fiend Arlene, cousin Marqe, family and friends. She was truly a very elegant lady, first class in everything and everyone she touched. A special thanks to her special friend Jeanne Adair Riley. Jeanne’s love, compassion, friendship and comfort to her was special. Walters dedication to Vonnie, not only through the years but at the end was very devoted and loving. She spent her last months at Silver Creek Assisted Living & Retirement home, where she passed.
The family would like to extend our thanks and gratitude to Debbie and the staff, caregivers for the special care they provided for her, truly a first class community.
She was our Miss America. She will be missed by all.
A Funeral Service for Yvonne will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, September 28, 2018 in the Garden Chapel followed by interment at Mountain View Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Lakewood.
