Yolanda Garcia Macias' Obituary
Yolanda Garcia Macias, age 78, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on May 28th, 2025 at her home in Lakewood, WA after a brief and courageous struggle with cancer.
Yolanda was born on August 13, 1946 in Seguin, TX to parents Conrado Garcia and Amelia Rodriguez. She relocated to Washington with her children and then husband, Andrew Macias in 1984, where she’s resided ever since. Over the years she worked as a paralegal and most recently in real estate where she garnered many friends.
Yolanda is survived by her son, Kevin Macias, her daughters Shannon Cousyn (Chris) and Sonia Pamboukas (Niko), grandchildren Delaney Doble (Jordan), Stefanos Pamboukas, Kerrigan Ulloa (Isaiah), and Evangelos Pamboukas, great-grandchildren Declan and Mila and her sisters, Maria Finch and Sylvia Garcia, both of Texas.
Besides spending time with family and friends, Yolanda was an avid mystery reader (having read every James Patterson book within days of their release) and never turned down a chance to watch a telenovela on her iPad. She was a fantastic cook, a stickler for tradition and ran a tamale-making party with an iron fist. She touched many people’s lives with her generosity and good humor.
Family and friends are encouraged to attend a celebration of life to be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Saint Frances Cabrini School (Note: AGC - In Memory of Yolanda G. Macias.
