Wilma Thurston Walter's Obituary
Wilma Walter was born in Wyoming and raised in Eastern Oregon. She attended Eastern Oregon State College where she met her husband, James P. Walter in 1952. They moved to the Pacific Northwest to help with the family owned dry cleaning and laundry business. Wilma worked for over 15 years in the banking industry. She was a member of St. MaryÂ's Episcopal Church in Lakewood. WilmaÂ's pride and joy were her family and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James P. Walter. She is survived by her sisters, Jewel (Norman) Koopman of Eastern Oregon, and June (Gilbert) Wilson of Arizona; her four children Sherrie Torrey of Graham, WA, Cathe (Terry) Robling of San Diego, CA, Tami (Clint) Johnson of Lakewood, and Craig (Teri) Walter of Lewiston, ID; and 12 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Memorial services will be held at 1 P.M., Friday, October 31, 2003 at St. MaryÂ's Episcopal Church, 10630 Gravelly Lake Drive SW, Lakewood. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of WA. 2625 3rd Ave., Seattle, WA 98121-1200.
