Willie Mae Walker's Obituary
Willie Mae (Rosenthal) Walker was born to Emma McCoy and Cornelious Rosenthal in Clarks, Louisiana on November 13, 1927. She departed this life suddenly on April 21, 2005 in Tacoma, Washington. She was united in a lifelong bond with her future husband at her birth after he (at age five) made the declaration upon seeing her as a newborn, Â"IÂ'm going to marry her when I grow up.Â" This became a reality on January 9, 1946. Their union lasted 59 years until her death. To this union was born five children: Daughters Belinda Hunter (Lynn) and Quincey Ann Walker, three sons Bruce, Donnel and Bennie Walker (Gabrielle). Mama was also blessed with numerous grandchildren: Jacques Walker, Bruce Tyrone Walker, Shona (Toi) Stevens (Mark), Yvette Herring, Sharon Hall, Crystal Riley (Dedrick), Adrian Waller, Jamal Conley, Allyson Waller, Andy (T. J.) Walker, Lamar Chatman, Damien (Mookie) Warren, Dominique Hunter, Jaasiel Walker, Tiffany and Brittney Brass, LaTra Walker, Miyamora and CyÂ'rai Rosenthal; great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and the Waller family. She was also survived by her sisters: Lucille Taylor, Jean Keppard, Carolyn Martin Simmons, Barbara Adley (Henry) and Diane Henton (Jim) and brother Herman Butler and Raymond Simmons all of California. And her extended family. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and brother Calvin Simmons.A public viewing will be held from 12:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at Mountain View Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2005 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1211 South I. Interment will follow at Mt. View Memorial Park.MamaÂ's favorite scripture was the 23rd Psalms.
