Willie Mae Johnson's Obituary
Willie Mae Johnson, affectionately called Madea or Grandma Muh. Born to Alvin Sr. and Bettie Mae Jackson on December 8th 1930 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas. She departed this life September 6th, 2018 at the age of 87 years old (in her home) surrounded by her family. When she was 8 years old Madea moved from Pine Bluff to Vancouver, WA along with her parents and siblings. After a few years her father (as he advanced in his career working for the railroad), decided again to relocate the family. This time settling in Tacoma. Early in life she met and married Ivory Crittendon Sr. Many years later she married Jay Johnson. Madea worked in the medical field and retired in 1975 at "My Home Nursing Facility". She enjoyed fishing, watching cowboy westerns and reading. She would often go undefeated in spades and bid whist. She took great pride in nurturing her garden and was very influential with the upbringing of her grand, great grand, and great great grandchildren. Madea enjoyed family gatherings and loved to dance. She had a strong belief in prayer and Ministry's where she served as a church mother. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Alvin Sr. and Bettie Jackson. Siblings Lillie Mae Summers, LeAnna Davis, Celia Isaac. Her children Wilma Jean Jackson, Jerry Lee Jackson Sr., and Deborah Joyce Crittendon. She is survived by her cildren Ivory Crittendon Jr, (Gwen), Charles Crittendon, Blanche Coney (David), Sheila Ferdinand (Dexter), Kenneth Crittendon, Willie Mae Austin (Keith), Malone Boyd, Diamond Boyd. And many grand, great and great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Christine Moody (Mangle), Teresa Linton (Emmett), Josephine Hughes, Alvin Jackson, Melvin Jackson (Sharon), Andrew Jackson. Madea is also survived by generations of nieces, nephews, and cousins. The Matriarch of our family will be greatly missed.
