Willie Dean McCullar's Obituary
Willie D. McCullar was born May 9, 1938 to Henry Pitts and Lillie Lyles in Lillibridge, AL. and she passed away April 12, 2003 at her home in Tacoma, WA. She attended school in Detroit, MI. and served in the US Army where she received an Honorable Discharge and later married Donald Coleman in the fall of 1963. In 1964, Willie Dean moved to Seattle where she worked for the Seattle VA Hospital for over 12 years. She then worked for the Federal Environmental Health and Engineering Dept. for 15 years before retiring. Willie later married Charles McCullar and joined the New Hope Baptist Church in Seattle. She enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with her children. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Donald; father, Henry Pitts; and one brother.She is survived by daughters, Donna Coleman-Williams (Gregory) and Dion Paveau; son, Rowlyn David Anderson; sisters, Betty and Sandra; brother, Richard; mother, Lillie Lyles; along with 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild on the way. Visitation will be Thurs. April 17th from 12 pm to 9 pm and Fri. April 18th from 8 am to 11am at Mt. View Funeral Home.Services are 1 pm, Friday, April 18, 2003 at St. John Baptist Church, 2001 South J St., TacomaInternment at Tahoma National Cemetery.
