Willie C. Lewis' Obituary
Mr. Willie Carl Lewis Devoted Husband, Protective Father, Loving Grandfather Sunrise September 1, 1929 Sunset April 10, 2009 On the morning of April 10th, 2009, after a long illness, Willie C. Lewis departed from this earth, to his heavenly home to receive his glorious crown. I Timothy 4:7-8: (7) I have fought a good fight, IEhave finished my course, IEhave kept the faith:E(8) Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous judge, shall give me at that day and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. Mr. Willie Lewis was born to Hope Lewis and Jewel (Beachem/ Lewis) Flowers in Dothan, AL, who have preceded him in death. As a very young man he joined the United States Army and served his country for 20 years; afterwards he worked for Boeing aircraft company as a machinist for 16 years. Mr. Lewis loved life and lived his life to the fullest even until his death. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bertha L. (Tacoma, WA), his four daughters, Virginia (Tacoma, WA), Vanessa (Tacoma, WA), Cynthia (Tacoma, WA) and Kimberly (Boynton Beach, FL), 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, his aunts Helen Mitchell (Newark, NJ) and Rachel Pugh (Newark, NJ), and a host of relatives. Viewing will be held Friday, April 17, 2009 at Mountain View Funeral Home from 2pm - 9pm. The funeral services will be held at Central Bible Evangelical Free Church, 1414 N. Huson, Tacoma, at noon on April 18, 2009. Our family would like to thank the staff at the VA Hospital, Madigan Hospital, special thanks to Diane and Anne at Franciscan Hospice and special thanks to Kathy, Geneva and Christine from Advance Care.
