William Michael Wright's Obituary
William M. Wright of Elk Plain, lost his battle with cancer on April 25, 2015. Born in Tacoma on August 8, 1938 to William and Veronica Wright, he lived his entire life in Elk Plain. Known to his many, many friends and family as Bill, Billy, Willy, Wild Willy, Little Bill, there was no job he could not do and nothing he could not fix. Bill spent 35+ years in the auto upholstery and glass business. Many local classic automobiles display his upholstery techniques. He was a proud perfectionist in many ways.
Bill is survived by his wife Noreen, sons Darrel and John, stepsons Alan and Todd (Chrissy) Ness; sisters Phyllis Whitson, Peggy (Russ) Eveleth, Janet (Bill) Johnson. He was Grandpa to 14 and Great Grandpa to 12 and Uncle Bill to many nieces and nephews who each have their own special memories. He is preceded in death by his wife Maria, his parents, a sister Darlene and brother Doug. Bill had many passions which included the little kids and proudly displays pictures of all the little great grandkids near his favorite chair which he always referred to as his "command center". He spent many years jeeping and later rebuilt his 49 Willy's jeepster also known as the "Tin Indian" to take to local car shows as well as to Canada, North Dakota and Arizona.
Family graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 2 at Mountain View Memorial Park. A celebration of life will follow from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Jeepers Restaurant in Spanaway where his many friends and family can share with each other their special memories of this Elk Plain legend.
