William Von Hasseln, affectionately known as Bill, passed away on October 27th, 2024, at the age of 81 in Lakewood, WA. Bill was a man of exceptional patience, thoroughness, and dedication, whose life was a testament to kindness and generosity.
Bill's love for music and animals was a defining aspect of his character, bringing joy and comfort to those around him. His 30-year army career took him across the globe, where his creativity and humanity shone brightly. Bill was deeply committed to the morale and effectiveness of every team he led, both in the military and in the private sector.
After retiring from the army, Bill continued to make a significant impact at Pierce College's finance department. Known for his mischievous yet good-natured sense of humor, he occasionally found himself in playful trouble with his superiors. Despite this, his dedication, hard work, and advocacy for his colleagues were always evident. Bill was a champion for those he worked with, ensuring their efforts and talents were recognized and uplifted.
Bill's heart belonged to his beloved wife, Ok Hwa, who passed away in May 2022. Their love story was one of deep admiration and affection. Now, they are reunited, and Bill can rest in peace.
Bill's legacy of kindness, dedication, and humor will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his memory be a blessing to all.
