William W. Thurston's Obituary
William W. Thurston, 82, passed away surrounded by his family on April 21, 2014 in Tacoma, WA. He was born on September 12, 1931 in Puyallup, WA to Lawrence W. and Anna C. (Steuby) Thurston.
William served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Following his military service, he met and married Ila M. Akin on October 6, 1956 in Tacoma. William worked for the Pennwalt Corporation for thirty years, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed camping, fishing and caring for his family.
He is survived by his sons Gary W. (Teresa) Thurston, Frank E. (Janice) Akin and David L. Akin; grandchildren Angela, Amy (David), Jennifer and Brandon; great grandchildren Drew, Dillon and Cameron. He was preceded in death by his wife, granddaughter Lindsey and her husband Sean Mitchell.
A private service will be held by the family at Mountain View Cemetery in Lakewood, WA.
Never Enough
So many tears I have already shed for you
So many more to come...I’m sure
Far too many at time then I think I can endure
But when…..not if…..they should ever occur
It will most definitely not be near the amount you have earned, or even close to the amount that you deserve
