William Sheffield's Obituary
William Leon Sheffield (Billy), age 71 of University Place, Washington died September 20th 2013 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma, WA.
Billy was born in rural Marengo County Alabama on September 25, 1942. He lived in Camden, Alabama with his wife Alyce for 30 years. Billy served in the United States Air Force from July 1963 until July 1967 which included a tour of duty in Vietnam. He owned and ran a dairy farm for many years and was the Manager for a Greer's chain grocery store in Camden prior to retiring and moving to University Place, Washington.
Survivors include: wife-Alyce and daughter Virginia Jeffers (Keith) both of University Place, Washington; brother Robert Sheffield (Joy) of Arlington, AL; sister Winnie Ann Holloman of Pensacola, Fl.; grandsons John, James and Owen Jeffers of University Place, WA; brother-in-laws Tommy Lawler (Jeanell); James (Big Daddy) Lawler; Sister-in-law Karen Lawler. Extended family: Mike and Roxann Swenson and granddaughters Alexis and Olivia Swenson of Tacoma, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Louise Sheffield and three grandchildren Addison Angel, Keith Allen Jr. and Bethany Allyson Jeffers and brother-in-law Simpson Lawler.
A Memorial service will be held to honor Billy’s life at a later date at the First Presbyterian Church in Camden, Alabama.

n lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial gifts be made to the American Heart Association or to Humane Society –Pierce County.
