William P. Nelson's Obituary
William P. Nelson born in Seattle on May 21, 1931 to Gertrude and Archie Nelson. Raised in Tacoma, graduated from Lincoln High School. He attended Bates Vocational School for boat building and joined the U.S. Navy in 1951.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Oleta. Raised 4 children, Eric (Cindy), Bob (Rose), Melinda, John (Barb). He worked as a union carpenter out of the local 470 in Tacoma for 35 years. He always enjoyed being on or near the water, taking his family to Alaska on a boat that he built. He enjoyed baseball and family vacations and he will be fondly remembered by 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
