I served at the same duty station (Ft. Lewis, WA), unit (A Company 29th Signal Bn), platoon and squad with Bill while stationed there from 1985-86. We shared many great times, laughs and duty hours together. He was a great friend. We reconnected after 30 years on Facebook and stayed in touch. My deepest condolences to the family. Bill will always be in our hearts.

I knew Bill since 1985 from the Army at Ft. Lewis; we had a lot of good times at A Co. 29th Signal Bn. He was the best man at my wedding in 1994. Also, we kept in touch over the years, he will be missed! He was a good friend, one you could call and talk to anytime. I recently contacted him and he said he was going to retire at the end of this month. I was surprised and saddened to hear of his death. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”
Matthew 5:4 KJV
Mary, I'm so sad for you and your family. I never met Bill. I do know his beautiful family though. It is never easy to lose anyone. 53 is way too young to leave this Earth. My sincere heartfelt love and condolences, to all that remain. Love, Kalen and the Devillier family.
It's a gift to know the family, thanks for letting me in. Bill will be missed.
Walter from Brooklyn.
