William L. Thompson's Obituary
William L. Thompson was born September 16, 1940. He passed away peacefully on August 4, 2010to go home to our heavenly father at Regional Hospital in Seattle, Washington with many family members by his side.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Morris and Lenetta Thompson, and brother, Morris Thompson, Jr. He leaves behind his loving wife, Emma J. Thompson of 44 years; one stepson, Willie L. Green; two daughters, Tina A. Thompson-Sloan and Estelle Thompson Quarless; one son, William L. Thompson, Jr.; three sisters, Joann Akins, Debbie Crawford, and Brenda (Kay) Thompson; two brothers, Robert Thompson and Arthur Thompson; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a country full of friends.
William served 34 years in the U.S. Army and retired as a Sgt. Major. HE served in two wars and received numerous medals and honors including U.S. Honors and Honors from other countries. William worked for the U.S. Postal Service for ten years before his final retirement. He loved fishing, hunting, and watching westerns on television. He also was a fan of rodeos and many times, acted like a cowboy himself.
William was a loving husband and father to many people and will be missed very, very much.
