William J. Stelling's Obituary
Bill passed away peacefully on May 8, 2005. He was born to John P. & Marie Helmond Stelling in Puyallup, WA on September 25, 1915. After Bill served in WWII, he moved to Tacoma with his wife and sons. He worked for Pacific Northwest Bell for 30 years, retiring in 1978.Bill loved hunting and fishing with his sons and friends, bowling with his wife, and growing lots of good vegetables for everyone to eat each year in his home garden.Bill was an Honorary Life Member of the Communications Workers of America, member of the Telephone Pioneers, member of many bowling leagues, member of Zion Lutheran Church, and past member of the Tacoma Elks.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 55 years, Margaret; and sisters Hildegarde Sierman, Marie Biehn andGertrude Wilhelmsen, and son Brian. He is survived by son Otis Stelling (Bonnie) of Lacey, WA; grandson Douglas Stelling (Kitty) of Yelm, WA; and granddaughter Dayna Stelling of Lacey, WA.At the request of Bill, no services will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Inurnment in Mountain View Memorial Park.
