William Hondle's Obituary
William "Bill" Frank Hondle (Bud), born December 13, 1923 in Dickinson North Dakota, died peacefully on February 4, 2013 at the age of 89.
A successful business-man, Accountant and "Enrolled Agent" authorized to practice before the Internal Revenue Service, Bill owned "Hondle's Tax Service" in Parkland, WA and was a member of the Washington Association of Accountants.
Bill lost his right arm in Army training exercises during WWII but never let it slow him down as he was an avid hunter, fisherman and sportsman. His love for trap shooting earned the respect of his peers as he was an excellent marksman, and everyone loved to watch the "one armed shooter" as he earned numerous shooting awards. A member of DAV, NRA and Ducks Unlimited, life member of Auburn Elks, life member of Gig Harbor Sportsmen's Club and life member of Tacoma Sportsmen's Club, Bill loved to be outdoors with his hunting dogs.
Bill is preceded in death by the passing of his beloved wife of 67 years, Joan Gertrude Hondle, and his eldest son, Roger William Hondle. Bill is survived by daughter, Gloria Simpson, sons, Bruce (Judy) and Bill (Linda), and daughter-in-law, Zoeanne Hondle; grandchildren, Jason (Kathleen) Hondle, Angela Buskeness, Roseanne (John) Starcher, Barry Philes and Evan (Kasey) Philes; and numerous great-grandchildren, relatives and great friends.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to DAV (Disabled American Veterans).
