William Earl Greco's Obituary
On January 11, 2023, in the comfort of his home on American Lake, William Earl Greco at 95 years old left his body and loved ones on earth to join his loved ones in heaven.
William grew up in the Italian neighborhood of Tacoma, WA with his parents, Mable and Anthony; and siblings, Don, Dick and Marie, who he loved dearly. During this time, he enjoyed endless hours of fun with his family and childhood friends, Blair and Laz, who would remain close to him the remainder of his life.
William attended Stadium High School and graduated in 1945, accomplishing All Star status in football. He was offered full-ride football scholarships to the University of Washington and University of Puget Sound. He decided to follow his favorite coach to the University of Puget Sound, putting relationships above status, a character trait he would continue to embrace for the remainder of his life.
Soon after graduating from UPS in Economics, William purchased his first income-generating property at 24 years old. He then proposed to his wife and true love, Virginia Maruca. They had four beloved children Kara, Bradley, Krista, and Kandace; two dedicated son-in-laws Dan and Eric; and five kind and accomplished grandchildren Kolton, Sebastian, Lauren, Sydney, and Katelyn. With his wife at his side William built, designed and invested in several businesses including Italian and Mexican restaurants, amusement and vending companies, shopping malls and office buildings.
William's favorite places to spend time with his family included the family farm at Satsop River, the beach place on Fox Island, the family home on Steilacoom Lake, the home in Laguna Niguel, and the Hale Hui Kai condominiums in Kihei, Maui where he vacationed with his wife and daughters once a year for over twenty-five years. Hobbies included collecting stocks, vintage cars, American coins along with building model cars and model race and train tracks.
Widely known for his pure heart, love of sweets (but only in moderation), humility, discipline in physical fitness and mental agility, soulful presence, artistic and architectural inclinations, excellence in money management, talented dancing with his wife, quoted Shakespeare and other notables, and passion for real estate and helping others succeed in business.
As he always said, “Love you, always have and always will; and it’s never goodbye, it’s always see you later”. Happy Birthday Bill/Dad/Papa and see you later! Loving you always! In gratitude to a life well lived!
