William Eward Cloyce's Obituary
William Edward Cloyce was born May 3, 1919 in Norfolk, VA. He went home May 9, 2006 in Tacoma, WA at the golden age of 87. He was a high school graduate, Trade School attendee, and Honorary VFW member. He enlisted into the United States Army and was immediately assigned to the 463rd Amphibian Truck Company, where he was instructed and performed as a Special Operations Transportation Coordinator. He saw heavy action on Normandy Beach, Northern France, Rhineland and various other theatres throughout Central Europe. He was a true soldier, highly decorated and awarded many distinguishing honors for valor, bravery and heroism.He is survived by his loving and dedicated wife, Anita D. Cloyce; 2 stepsons: Lewis E Dennard and Bobby L. Smith; 3 stepdaughters: Charlotte L. Skannal, Denise C. Powell and Yvette M. Smith; 2 sisters: Lillie Cloyce and Fannie Mae Cloyce; 2 sister-in-laws: Glenda Faye Mitchell and Patricia Dixon of Shreveport, LA; 3 brother-in- laws: Robert Williams of Shreveport, Graylin Williams and Kenneth Williams of Tacoma; niece Tammy Jackson of Chicago, IL, a host of other nieces, and nephews, 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.I would like to thank Sharon Schwenn for being his caregiver for 3 years, and Mozale Jones, an adopted daughter from WA State.Viewing will be held from 12p to 9p, Thursday, May 18th at Mountain View Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 10am, Friday, May 19th at Shiloh Baptist Church, 1211 S. Â"IÂ" St, Tacoma, WA. Internment will follow at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, WA.
