Worked with Willie from the time he started at Ft Lewis. First as an intern, then as a temp, and finally permanent employee! It wasn't always clear that he would be kept on, but he worked hard anyway, and kept a good attitude. He probably didn't have to work. He did have a severe handicap, but that wasn't Willie's style. He believed in being a productive individual. He wasn't always treated as well as he should be, and I would get so mad for him, but he just calmly accepted things, and held his head up with pride. He was really great with computers. Don't know how we'd have made it without him. He was good at figuring out what the problems were and usually knew how to fix them. When they took away the computer repair where we were, he still helped us out and worked hard to get us to the head of the line at the centralized computer place. He found a family and worked hard to get the paperwork filed, so that they could come to be with him. That took lots of smarts, and persistance, and hard work. He was proud of his family, and seemed to really enjoy being a father, not that it was always easy. Funny, troublemaking, good person. You will be missed.
