What does one say about a man that could convince you that an empty glass was always full? I want to mention just a couple of interactions that took place between us during 2004. When we saw him at his home in June we told him about our cabin assignment on an Alaskan cruise, leaving the following day, and he decided that we needed a better cabin. Uncle Bill spent an hour describing the strategy we should use to get an upgrade. On the ship we hesitated to try his strategy, then went ahead because I knew that he would ask. We were refused an upgrade, and when I next talked to him, I told him his advice did not work. He commented -that's OK Jimmie, you tried and that is what counts. In October my sister Sandy and I spent two days with him. Sandy wanted to see the space needle, but Uncle Bill told us we would be swamped by people heading for a Husky game. So we left early, saw the space needle, and drove back to his home. When we told him where we had been, he looked at us and said if you had come back 30 minutes later the traffic would have gridlocked you! Sandy quickly said, it was getting heavier going North, and Uncle Bill replied that we were very lucky not to get held up in traffic. We spent two days with him and he wore us out going to dinner, driving around Tacoma late at night to show us the city. We never got lost and he commented that this was fun and we should come back the following weekend and go eat oysters. Yes, he had an account in Orem, UT too!!##imported-begin##James R.
