William Bennie Webster's Obituary
Went to be with his Lord on March 3, 2007. Born in Waco, Texas June 19, 1931. Was in the Army National Guard of Texas 1949-1952, then went to active military service in Field Artillery. Served in the Korean War and was given Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star; United Nations Service Medal; National Defense Service Medal. He served his country until 1956. Met and married Joan, his wife of 50 years while serving at Fort Lewis. Bill was a retired body and fender repairman that worked in and around the Tacoma area for many years. He loved to fish in Texas and do some camping, hunting and more lake and sound fishing here in Western Washington. Bill was 1 of 9 children of Myrtle and Clyde Webster . He liked to tell people of his Cherokee Indian descent from his Mother and Grandmother Davis. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Boyd, Clifford, David, Clyde and sister Leona all of Texas, and his son Robert in 1971.Survivors include his wife Joan, daughter Cheryl Serjeant (Gary) of Graham, son Jeffrey Webster of Buckley, granddaughter Kristy Bergee of Tacoma, brother Leroy Webster and sister Effie Cumbo of Waco, Texas and brother Chester Webster (Jerry) of Grand Bay, Alabama with many nieces and nephews.Memorial contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church where Bill was a member.
