William Allen Taylor
Bill was born July 28, 1933 in Tacoma, Washington to parents Francis and Helen Taylor. He passed away on July 28, 2011 surrounded by family and friends. He was a graduate of Stadium High School and started working for Western Electric as an installer. He retired from US West in 1994. He was a Master Gardener with the Washington State University Pierce County Extension. He was the last participating member of the original class still involved in the program. His other passion was in the art of Bonsai, winning numerous ribbons annually at the Western Washington Fair. He was involved in the Royal Rangers Christian boys camping program attending many campouts. He was a man of great faith and prayer. Missions were also a big part of his life. Bill was a member of Glad Tiding Assembly of God, Point Defiance Christian Assembly, Life Center Church and recently attended Inspiration Bible Church. Survivors include his wife Marilyn, sons Thomas (Colette) and Richard (Patty), and daughters Elizabeth and Martha (Scott). He had nine grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. A memorial service was held on Monday, August 1st. Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 11:30 a.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Life Center Church, Tacoma. Attn: Royal Rangers.
