William A Ostrander
William A Ostrander was received into the arms of his heavenly father on April 27th in Walnut Creek California. William was born February 23rd, 1919 in Magna, Utah. William moved to Washington State in 1945. William was the founder of the Pierce County Lost Chord club in 1965. He served for over 20 years with the Lost Chord Clubs of the State of Washington. William was a member of the Masons and served at the Royal A. Gove Lodge #230. He also served on the Directors Staff of the Tacoma Afifi Shriners. William belonged to the Teamster Union - local 313 in Tacoma Washington. William was a World War II veteran and served as a combat engineer on the islands of Okinawa and Leyte. He is survived by his wife Esther Lorraine, of 70 years. William had 5 children, Wayne Ostrander and his wife Judith of Shepherdsville Kentucky, David Ostrander and his wife Rebecca of Pleasanton California, and Billy Ostrander and his wife Becky of Spanaway Washington. Preceded in death were a son, Sidney Ostrander and a daughter Sondra Reese. He is survived by 11 grandchildren- 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Funeral Services will be held May 8th at 11:00AM at Tacoma First Church of the Nazarene 3640 S. "M" St. Tacoma, WA 98418. A viewing will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home on May 7th from 12-9pm. We will miss and remember his smiling face forever. He wore a smile for every cloud!!
