William A. McLelland's Obituary
September 3, 1917 to June 21, 2006. Bill passed quietly at Pioneer Place after a long fight with AlzheimerÂ's Disease, and other physical illnesses. Born in Baltimore, MD to William A. McLelland, Sr. and Jennie C. (Moran) McLelland, he was second of six children. All but two sisters have predeceased him. He had lived in Tacoma since 1954 after moving from Benicia, CA.He loved playing Bingo locally. He was a member of the VFW Post #1428. His special passion was his Army military service and WW II. He visited many countries during his lifetime, including France and Germany, where he spent the end of WW II.He can now join his beloved wife, Jeanne, whom he lost six years ago. He is survived and greatly missed by his daughters, Michelle (McLelland) Curran (Don Curran) of Puyallup and Jill (McLelland) Hines of La Push. He will also be missed by eight grandchildren, their spouses and one great-grandson, one great-granddaughter and his step-grandchildren.A memorial service with military honors will be held at 12:00 PM, Saturday, August 19, 2006 in the Mountain View Garden Chapel, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Tacoma, with a reception following at 1:00 PM at the Sizzler Restaurant, 10204 South Tacoma Way, Lakewood.In lieu of flowers, donations made in his name to the AlzheimerÂ's Association, 12721 30th Ave. NE Suite 101, Seattle, WA 98125, will be greatly appreciated.
