William A. Floss' Obituary
William A. Floss Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. Bill passed away peacefully at his home in University Place, Friday, March 20, 2009 at the age of 78. Bill was born in Chicago, IL. Nov. 08, 1930 to Harold and Margaret Floss. He was a proud veteran of the Korean war serving our nation in the U.S. Air Force. He was last based at McChord AFB where he met the love of his life, Donna Jones and they were married Nov. 26, 1955 in Chicago and moved back to Tacoma in 1957. Bill retired from Albertsons in 1992 after 35 years in the grocery business. He was a member of UFCW #81. After retiring Bill went to work part-time for the Tacoma schools in Fircrest at Whittier & Wainright Elementry, then on to University Place schools as playground supervisor and crossing guard because he had such a love for the children who always called himE"Grandpa". He also had a great sense of humor and a love for life that touched everyone he came in contact with and he will be greatly missed by all. Bill leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Donna, son James, daughters Deborah Tribble and Janet Sundstrom, grandchildren Nicole and Brian Tribble, Dylan Sundstrom, brothers John and Robert Floss, sisters Lorraine Kolo and Rosemary Sullivan, many nieces and nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents, daughter Karen Floss, brothers Harold, George & Eugene. Services will be held on Saturday, Mar. 28th at 1:30 p.m. at Mt. View Cemetery, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. S.W. Reception to follow the service at the Celebration of Life Center.
