Willia Mae Louise Walker's Obituary
Willia Mae Louise Walker (Jordan), known affectionally as Willa, went to her heavenly home June 20, 2024, at the age of 87 in Greenacres, Florida, surrounded by loved ones.
Willa was born on December 14, 1936, in Kewanee, Illinois. She was the fourth child of fifteen children blessed to her parents, Leonard Sr. and Louise Jordan (Bailey). Her last marital union was with Dudley Winston Walker. She also had a previous marriage to Donald Baker. Both preceeded her in death.
Willa’s career as a grocery checker, spanning over 25 years, was marked by the deep connections she forged with co-workers and customers alike, many of whom became lifelong friends. She also had a brief but successful employment in Tupperware sales where she demonstrated her leadership capabilities and her ability to inspire those around her.
In 2019, Willa relocated to South Florida, where she thrived amongst family and rekindled her relationship with God. Her final years were lived in devotion to her faith. She was a testament to living a life of spiritual growth and purpose.
Willa was preceded in death by her parents; husband; nephew with whom she shared a mother-son bond: Randall Quick (Vera); brothers: Leonard, Francis, Louis, Donald, Leslie, Gerald and Kevin Jordan; sisters: Arlene Ball, Darlene Cook, Marva Thomas and Victoria Newman.
Mourning her departure, yet grateful for many years of memories are her daughters: Donna Andrews, Mary Ellis, Keesha Walker and Machelle Wall (John Sr.); sons: Kim Baker (Julia) and Dion Baker (Maureen); sisters: Joyce Taylor, Angela Jordon, and Marjorie White; brothers: William Sr. and Robert Jordan; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-three great grandchildren; six great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
A service to honor and celebrate Willa's life will be held July 20, 2024, 1:00 pm at Mt. View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4100 Steilacoom Blvd. S.W., Lakewood, WA 98499.
