Dear Baisinger Family,
On behalf of the Albertson Family, I can only reflect what other guest book visitors have already said. My father, Robert Albertson, appreciated Mr. Baisinger as a friend and colleague at the University of Puget Sound. Dad and Mr. Baisinger enjoyed many discussions and supported each others projects. Students and their families were on the top of their list of priorities. Personally, I always made a point of talking to the Baisingers every Sunday I went to First Methodist Church, Tacoma. They were positive and interesting to talk to. Mr. Baisinger and Anita made UPS and the city of Tacoma better places to be.##imported-begin##Richard Albertson##imported-end##
I had planned to attend the service but my own recovery from cancer surgery will prevent my attendance.
Bur and I first met at a summer interpersonal communication workshop. Next thing I knew there was an opening for a one-year position at the university and Bur was conspiring with Gary Peterson to get me to apply. I was fortunate enough to get the job and to stay.
Bur was both a professional colleague and a friend. He was a model of how to adapt to the changes in our changing field and of how to support other professors. he was always available to talk and quick to offer instant coffee in his office--these were the days before espresso stands.
When I came back to UPS with my new family in 1986 Bur and Anita opened their home to us as we looked for one of our own.
Bur was a faithful teacher, proud parent, devoted husband, and good friend who always looked for merriment in life. I am glad to have been his informal student, his colleague, and his friend##imported-begin##David Droge##imported-end##
