Wendell Herman Halford's Obituary
Wendell Herman Halford
Wendell left us on Monday, March 29th, after a courageous 14-month battle with cancer at the age of 69. He was born on September 15, 1940 in Reyno, Arkansas to John and Mildred. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Carolyn, his sons Greg and Jeff, along with his wife Robyn, and grandsons Joey and Thomas. He is further survived by two sisters, Scarlett Gibbs (Oklahoma) and Regina Harris (Illinois). Wendell had 13 nieces and nephews along with 29 great-nieces and nephews. In addition to spending over 26 years in the military, Wendell also worked at Boeing, Asarco, and eventually retired from Life Care Centers of America. Wendell loved spending time with his family and his dog, Cecil. The family would like to extend our sincerest appreciation to the wonderful and supportive staff at Multicare Oncology, Radiation, and Hospice. You became our extended family during this past year. A funeral service and celebration of life will be held at Mountain View Cemetery on April 7, 2010 at 11am in the Valley Chapel. A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 6 from 11am to 9pm. Please donate in his memory to the Oncology department at Tacoma General or the Humane Society.
