Weldon Ludwig Yost's Obituary
Weldon (Bud) Yost
April 28, 1929-October 24, 2008
Weldon entered the gates of heaven on October 24, 2008 with family by his side. He was born on April 28, 1929 to Jacob and Florenz Yost. He lived in Tacoma all of his life and attended Mary Lyon Elementary School, Stewart Jr. High, and Lincoln High School. Weldon met his bride, Shirley Rocks, at a Christian camp in Oregon. Weldon and Shirley were married 44 years.
Family was very important to Weldon. He was very proud of his "two girls" and his three grandsons who called him "Bampa". Special times were holidays and family birthday parties where he could be with his entire family. Another favorite activity was camping at Mt. Rainier with his family. He was never too busy to stop and play with his girls or grandchildren.
Weldon was a member of the Plasterers and Cement Masons Union for over 50 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years where he served as a Trustee and sang in the church choir.
Weldon was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, sister, Jacqueline Hartmann, and grandson Karl Jacob Ostheller. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Marilyn and Rick Parkos of Tacoma, and Nancy and Karl Ostheller of Ione, Oregon, his grandsons and wives, Rodney and Rebecca Parkos of Gig Harbor, Corey and Rachel Parkos of Tacoma, and grandson Nate Ostheller of Ione, Oregon, great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Kent, Lukas Howes and a new great-grandchild due in March.
A special thanks to the loving and caring staff at Orchard Park, who took care of our dad and grandfather for the past 6 months.
