Wayne B Ross' Obituary
Wayne Ross, 86 of Tacoma, passed away on February 27, 2014. Wayne was born to Keith and Elfie Ross in Wenatchee, WA in 1927 and was the second of five children. He attended Wenatchee High School and later Lincoln High School in Tacoma. Wayne worked for the City of Tacoma for 30 years serving as Poundmaster of the Tacoma Humane Society and as a driver for the Refuse Department. From 1944 to 1948 Wayne served in the U.S. Navy and was on board the USS Idaho and was anchored in Tokyo Harbor when the peace treaty was signed. On June 6, 1949 he married Cleo F. Moody in his parents home. He had been a member of Capital Vision Christian Church in Olympia, and served as Deacon at several Christian Churches in the area, the last being Fellowship Christian Church at 38th and East I in Tacoma. Wayne was a devoted husband, loving father and faithfully served his church. He is survived by his wife, Cleo; children, Cheryl Ann Blissenbach, Michael Wayne Ross, Laurie Gaye Thomas, and John Forrest Ross; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. No Services are planned at this time. Memorial contributions may be made to Fellowship Christian Church.
