Wayne Killian's Obituary
Wayne Wilson Killian, born March 20th 1928 in Portland, Oregon to Myrtle Valentine and Robert Killian. He passed away in his home of 50 years in Lakewood Washington, on December 16th, 2019.
Wayne joined the Army in April of 1946 at the age of 18. He traveled the world, and in 1960 he found himself in Okinawa where he met the love of his life, Yoshiko. After 2 years of chasing her, SHE finally caught him, and they were married August 7th, 1962. They were together for an amazing 57 years. A year later, they were blessed with a daughter, Kathleen (sorry Kathy, I mean Kat). Six years later, it happened again, and William was born.
Wayne retired from the Army in 1969, achieving the rank of Captain. Entering civilian life, he found work with FT. Lewis Taxi and retired as a manager.
Later in life, Wayne enjoyed putting puzzles together, crosswords, watching Big Time Wrestling, football (go Seahawks) and baseball (go M’s). He was a loving husband, proud father and grandfather, chauffer, repairman, candy/cookie supplier (he had a sweet tooth) etc.
Some might say he was a bit of a grouch, and he would agree with you (he said he hated everyone equally). Things like asking for an ashtray in a non-smoking restaurant (He didn’t smoke), refusing to drink water because fish swim in water, or the ever popular argument over whether it was a plum or prune (we still don’t have the answer).
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Yoshiko; daughter Kathleen & Tim (Son-in-Law); son William & Patricia (Daughter-in-Law); His favorite Granddaughter Taylor; Favorite Grandsons Logan and Alexander. He also leaves behind many family and friends whose lives he touched.
