My sincere condolences to all of Wayne's family. I worked with Wayne a good part of my railroad career. I'd say over 30 years...of my 40 year career. He was a wonderful man who went out of his way to help me and anyone else who needed help during work or otherwise.
I can remember one time when he was teaching me how to verify the Muni tracks in Tacoma. He had me let him off at one end of the yard and told me how to drive around to the other side of the yard to pick him up. Mind you, he was doing me a favor by walking the tracks for me. I started driving and got lost, and it took me about an hour to find him. He was so good natured about having to stand outside in the dark all that time....I felt sooo bad.
He was just a very good person. My husband, Ray, also worked with Wayne. We both talk about him often and with fondness. We both were amazed at how he could remember birthdays, anniversary and any other type of dates you could think of. Once again, our condolences.
