Warren Nathan Finch
Of Tacoma, Washington, passed away on March 13, 2013 at his winter home in Palm Springs, California at the age of 81 of complications from Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Warren was born in Berlin, Germany on April 14, 1931. He immigrated with his family to the United States in 1934, and settled in the Bronx. While living in Occupied Japan with his father, a US Army doctor, in 1949, he met the love of his life, Dorothy Jean Wilk, whom most people know as Jean. Warren and Jean moved to Tacoma, Washington in 1955 to start a family. Warren worked for General Electric Supply Company in Tacoma, first in the warehouse and later as a salesman, from 1955 until his retirement in 1989. They had three children, son Steven, daughter Karen, and son Kim (Benjamin). Warren was an avid boater, from small fishing and ski boats to his 30-foot Tollycraft, the Shalom. He was an active member of the Tacoma Outboard Association and the Tacoma Power Squadron. He enjoyed cruising, fishing, and camping with his family. He was an active contributor to numerous causes, including Visitation Catholic School, animal rights and conservation causes, local Republican candidates for offices, the National Rifle Association, and other groups and organizations supporting constitutional rights, liberty, and medical research.
