Ward W. Allen's Obituary
Ward W. AllenWard, 83, died February 18, 2003. Born August 28, 1919 he grew up and resided in the area most of his life.Ward served on an Army repair ship during WW II as a combination welder stationed in Holandia Bay, New Guinea. He worked for the Tacoma Public Schools from 1959 to 1981 as foreman for the heating and plumbing systems maintenance. He spent his retirement years making creative improvements to his home, grooming his beautiful yard with special attention to his roses. He was a member of the Elks and the Tacoma Orchid Society.Ward was preceded in death by Betty, his beloved wife of 60 years. He is survived by 4 daughters, Sharon (Gail) Wolvin, Lolita (Tom) Hayward, Laura (Robert) Freeby, Launa (Donald) Davis, 7 grandsons, and 9 great grandchildren.Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 22 at 1 PM in Mountain View Funeral HomeÂ's Celebration of Life Center.Betty J. AllenBetty J. Allen, 79, died May 18, 2002. Born October 28, 1922 to Ernest and Bessie Foreman, Betty began life in Malden, Washington. Her family moved to Tacoma when Betty was young, and she resided in the area most of her life.BettyÂ's greatest loves were family, flowers, and friends. Always with a ready smile she loved life and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She raised orchids and was an active member of the Tacoma Orchid Society. Proud of her heritage, she was a member of the Dorothy Ball Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.Betty is survived by Ward her loving husband of 60 years, four daughters, Sharon (Gail) Wolvin, Lolita (Tom) Hayward, Laura (Bob) Freeby, Launa (Don) Davis, 7 grandsons, and 9 great grandchildren.
