Hi Dear family of Ward,
I am Sherry, a friend of Ward's and Markay's from Fred Meyer. I intially knew Ward, as a frugal shopper! He once said I was the best cashier they had, well, I liked that so I was always good to Ward. I felt it was my obligation to save him as much money as I could when he shopped, and he appreicated that. We found we were both born in Kansas, and I always looked forward to seeing him. Ward had brought me corn he had grown, and mentioned his family many times.
I enjoyed visiting with Ward many times over the years. Then I got to know Markay, and was able to keep up with the goings on of Ward through her.
I feel blessed to have known Ward and Markay.
God Bless you all
Ward will be missed
Love

During my first year as a Sheriff's detective, I shared an office with Ward (Ace) Archer. The tiny, 8x10 foot space had room for just one small desk, which we shared, sitting directly across from each other. You can learn a lot about a man sharing such close quarters each day. I learned that Ward was an individual who displayed outstanding integrity and was a joy to be around. When I see him in my mind's eye, he always has his trademark smile. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

My connection to Ward goes back 30 years when he was a detective and I was a new Pierce County Deputy Prosecutor. We discussed many issues that arose in the course of his work, and I always admired his hard work and dedication to seeing that things were done the right way. Fortunately, after he retired we kept in touch, and I was able to share some milestones with him over past 25 years. He was a good man!##imported-begin##Doug Brown##imported-end##
