Wanetta Marie Reed's Obituary
Wanetta Marie Reed Stonebraker, born April 16, 1924, in Cumberland, Maryland to John William Reed and Olive (Penner) Reed, passed away October 31, 2003, in Aurora, Colorado, where she had been living with her daughter, Rebecca Jonell.Mrs. Stonebraker was preceded in death by her beloved husband of forty-eight years, Ernie. She was also preceded by her sisters, Norma Jean, Leona, and Lillian, and brothers, Johnny and Lawrence.She is survived by her loving daughter, Rebecca; son-in-law, Jim; grandchildren, Benjamin and Emily; and loving caregiver, Ollie Hood. She is also survived by her sister, Violet Bittner of Cumberland, Maryland, and her brother-in-law, Louis Stonebraker ofAmerican Fork, Utah, as well as many nieces and nephews.During WWII, Mrs. Stonebraker served in the United States Navy at Bethesda, Maryland, Company 134-45, Battalion 2, USN Hospital Corps School, as a Hospital Apprentice First Class. She was discharged from the Navy on January 18, 1946.Mrs. Stonebraker was a resident of Tacoma for thirty-five years, and had many friends in that area. She was an active member of the Lakewood Church of the Nazarene. In her leisure time, Mrs. Stonebraker enjoyed visiting with friends, crafts, creating picture albums, and caring for her beloved dog, Gizmo.A memorial service was held for Mrs. Stonebraker in Colorado. In lieu of floral arrangements, contributions may be made in Mrs. StonebrakerÂ's name to the American Humane Society.
