Wanda Grace (Kilinkert)'s Obituary
Wanda Grace (Klinkert) Gillis, age 84, was born September 8, 1918 in Tacoma, Washington. She was the only daughter born to Rose and Jacob Klinkert. Wanda died peacefully August 24, 2003 at Tacoma Lutheran Home with her family present. Wanda attended Tacoma schools, graduating from Lincoln High School in 1936. Her husband, Donald and her three brothers, George, Lawrence and Matthew, and one great-granddaughter, Maci preceded her in death. Wanda was the devoted mother of Skip Gillis (Nanci), Sharlene (Jerry) Foss, and Barbara (George) Carlsen; her grandchildren include, Jerry Foss Jr. (Liz), Randy Foss (Allene), Tyler Foss (Anne), Christopher Foss (Traci), Tyler Gillis (Janine), Troy Gillis, Kristin Crane (Jeff), and Todd Carlsen (Jean); her great-grandchildren are Nicholas Foss, Jason Foss, Sean Foss, Amy Foss, Colby Foss, Lauren Foss, Christopher Foss, Shayla Foss, Jacquelyn Gillis, Troy Gillis, Kelsey Crane, Mattea Crane, Justin Crane, Lindsey Crane, and Mary Carlsen. She is also survived by eight nieces and nephews and sisters-in-law, Ethel Shouse and Millie Gillis.Wanda was lovingly cared for by Hilde Mason for eleven years, and for a short time, the nurses and staff at Tacoma Lutheran Home.A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, August 30, 2003 at 1:30 P.M. at Mt. View Memorial Park, and will continue at her grandsonÂ's home.Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
